Windows media player 12 bugs

There are a couple of errors that could be causing the problem so there are multiple fixes. We have gathered a list of the possible issues along with their possible solutions for you. Like every other software, windows media player comes with its troubleshooter which is capable to fix almost every issue the users face. If you are facing a windows media player error, it is best to try the built-in troubleshooters first.

It is totally up to you to select the troubleshooter you want to go with. We would recommend you to choose the troubleshooter that goes well with the problem you are facing. In case your software did not come with any troubleshooter, you can easily download them from the internet without paying anything.

First of all, open the troubleshooter. You can also open the Run dialog box from the Start menu if you do not want to use the short key. You will see the option to run the troubleshooter. Once you run it, there are high chances that your problem will be fixed. If you believe that either your issue is not fixed or it does not belong to the first category, you can choose to run the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter. To do so, open msdt. You can choose to leave the box unchecked if you like but we would suggest that you check it.

Now, click "Next" and follow the prompts. This would fix your software within a few minutes. Now, if no fixing technique has worked so far, it is time for you to go for Windows Media Player Library troubleshooter.

You need to open msdt. You will notice a tab of Advanced again, we suggest you to choose to Run as Administrator and check the box of Apply Repairs Automatically. Click on the "Next" button and follow all the prompts coming along the way. If the first two fixing techniques did not work, we are sure that this would work for you.

Well, good for you there is another way to fix the issue you are facing. Open msdt. The Windows Media Player Library troubleshooter will open on your screen. Keep selecting "Next" and follow the prompts. Hopefully, your issue will be fixed. When viewing my entire library by selecting the Music node in the tree view in the left pane of WMP 12 I cannot expand the columns past some hard-coded max width. This is a problem because much of my data has values wider than the allowed max column width.

Could you maybe bring back some of these handy features? I used to be able to see the total play time, the total item count and the total disk space in the All Music view of WMP 9. I used to be able to change the background color to black.

I would like this feedback to actually make it to someone in Microsoft that can make a difference. I am aware of the Microsoft Connect website and I have submitted bugs and suggestions there before, however I cannot currently perform those tasks due to lack of invitation? Is social. Can you help us improve? Resolved my issue. Clear instructions. Easy to follow. No jargon. Pictures helped. Didn't match my screen. Incorrect instructions.

The problem occurs on any streaming radio station at different bit rates e. It looks like a bug and smells like a bug in Windows Media Player to me. So the conclusion is Apologies that this is also a cross-post from Microsoft Answers here. Did you also try a full Clean Boot according to KB, e. Also, please post the URLs to a few of the radio stations on which the problem occurs, so we can check if it also occurs on other PCs.

Thanks very much for the reply. After I follow the KB clean boot procedure Kaspersky still seems to load so I even paused it and still have the same problem. Nothing in common that I can see beyond their being played WMP 12 or perhaps being relatively higher bitrate streams.
